My Cockesville clients often ask me how much bed bugs reproduce. Compared to other insects, bed bugs are actually slow to reproduce. Adult female produces one egg a day, which takes 10 days to hatch and then 6 weeks to develop into an adult.

But, not to worry. We can help.

There is well-tested technology for dealing with bed bugs - heat treatment. We heat and kills the bugs at 135 degrees Fahrenheit.

There's also a new product on the market - killer spores! We are not kidding. A bunch of PHDs at Penn State University found that there were spores naturally occurring in nature that kill insects. They modified a particular group of spores to kill bed bugs. We've been using these in addition to our heat treatment and, honestly, we think we've gone many months now without a single call back to retreat. At this point we're getting it done with a single application. In reality, it is two-step process - first, we do the heat and then we come back a day later to do the spores. We cannot do both at once because the heat will kill the spores.

So, if you're living in Cockesville and you're having bed bug issues, fear not! There is a solution we can offer - give us a call.
